Carie and I spent a day driving around leaf peepin’ on a loop through the northern front range and out through Rocky Mountain NP.
We headed north along the front range and into the mountains at Fort Collins on hwy 14. Nothing too dramatic, but it was fun to see the area. The road meandered through canyons before opening up into larger valleys and past farms.
We swung south and up into Lake Granby on our way to Trail Ridge Road and the western side of the park,
Nice spot for a camp,
The Kawuneeche Valley, on our way to the RMNP Alpine visitor center,
Now on our way east towards Estes Park, the road drops off fast,
Alpine lakes and vast valleys,
Longs Peak in the clouds,
Descending Trail Ridge Road, overlooking Horseshoe Park,
A rainbow bid us goodbye as we left Estes Park,
